Used 2 by 8 plywood and cut them into 38”.The equipment is sturdy. I would highly recommend for the seller to add some wood screws and 5/16 Hex screws. Overall content with the product. You’re installing this on a stud wall make sure you use a back plate. I covered my backplate with MDF because I didn’t want the rustic look. I decided not to install the pull up bar because I already have a Rogue over the door pull up barInstructions are not helpful at all for a not handy person could be complicated. Height of how should be install also not clear. The height should be tabulated according to ppl height, this is a suggestion. Was a little skeptical when I saw some of the reviews about the sturdiness of the frame but wanted this exact set up for my garage. Glad I did! I'm 6'6" and weigh 230lbs and this set hold me up like a champ! The first dip and pull up was a little nervous but the hardware itself is very sturdy! You will have to make a trip to the hardware store for some extra mounting hardware. It only comes with concrete anchors. I purchased an 8' 2x12 and some 5/16" lag bolts. Cut and mounted the wood to the wall studs (i spanned 3 studs on 16" centers) and the mounted the unit to the wood using the lag bolts. No squeeking or give in the hardware. The dip bars do wobble just slightly, but doesn't affect the workout. After some good use, im sure another good tightening will solve that. Very happy with the set and do recommend!!Purchased this pull up system to install in a concrete wall in our home gym. Initially, the box that I got was missing a few components needed to install and lacked some holes where there needed to be.Reached out to the company via Facebook Messenger and right away they sent me a replacement at no charge! this replacement had everything needed! Great quality, sturdy, and will be used for a long time!Installing on to concrete is difficult in general. Instead of using the bolts provided, I used some concrete specific bolts that required me to enlarge the holes in the product itself. As long as you have the appropriate tools, overall things go pretty smoothly. If you don't have a concrete wall or you're not as handy - I'd suggest you both this to a 3/4" piece of plywood, then install it to a studded wall with lag bolts - similar to ones you'd use to hang a very heavy TV. Because of momentum and force, I'd be cautious and use more bolts/mount points than necessary.Super satisfied overall. Recommend and will buy from again. Customer service on point! This is a good product for the price point. The mounting hardware was included in the package which was nice but only provided for mounting on a cement wall which was not an option for our home / garage where it was needed. I ended up just purchasing 2 2x8 lumber for about 10$ and cutting them into 4 equal 38” pieces to be secured to the wall using 4” wood stud screws. I then used 2” 5x16 hex screws and washers to mount the frames to the boards and it is super sturdy with zero give or creaking when in use.The product itself has a little moment in the handles and one of the handle grips for leg raises came with a bad thread and had to use another bolt to make it secure.I added some additional 5x16 washers to the inside of the twist knobs on both sides to limit the movement in the arm mounts just to give a more solid feel when getting on an off the equipment. All in all out of pocket expense to alter the mount to a wood stud wall was less than 20$ which was not a big deal.I installed on 2 pieces of 1/2" plywood 31"x16" and 31"x14" spray painted black. The frame units were mounted to the plywood using 6x 1/4 in -20 x 1 in machine screws (home depot pn 530-681) per frame piece, total of 24 screws. I scaveneged the washers from the m8x80 expansion screws that were included. The machine screws were preinstalled from the back prior to mounting the plywood pieces to the wall. The plywood mounts were anchored to studs using 10x 2.5 inch wood screws I had lying around.A previous reviewer complained about the dip and ab station wobbling and solved this with 5/8" washers. The problem is more simply solved by installing the included plum blossom screws from the *inside* of the frame (the instructions and online photos direct you to install from the *outside* of the frame). Installing in this manner eliminates the wobble and further allows quicker removal of the upper screws to fold down or remove the dip and ab station arms.Meets my needs but for how long.. Wobbly, even when tight. Cheap product in its price but if you are hard on your equipment the metal will fail at some point, even if you have it really secured. Grips suck, going to have to buy better foam grips that don't move
